Beyond the
Shadow:
A Journey Toward Wholeness through Psychology, Somatic Practice & Ancient Wisdom
Have you ever felt like you're living from only part of yourself?
Perhaps you've learned to quiet your voice, hide your sensitivity, suppress your anger, or dim your gifts in order to feel accepted. Over time, these adaptations become so familiar that we forget they're there. They quietly shape the way we move through the world, influencing our relationships, choices, creativity, and sense of purpose.
The energy it takes to keep parts of ourselves hidden is immense. What might become possible if some of that energy were freed? What would it feel like to live with greater authenticity, wholeness, and ease?
Beyond the Shadow is an invitation to gently explore these questions through the lens of psychology, yoga, and embodied practice. Rather than asking you to "fix" yourself, this journey offers a compassionate space to better understand yourself. Together, we'll explore the hidden aspects of our inner world, not to judge or eliminate them, but to meet them with curiosity, awareness, and care.
Rooted in modern psychology, ancient yogic wisdom, and trauma-sensitive practices, this experience unfolds slowly and intentionally, allowing time for reflection, integration, and meaningful transformation. Along the way, we'll cultivate the inner resources needed to stay present with our experiences while reconnecting with the creativity, vitality, and wisdom that have always been within us.
Candace Stevens, LPC, E-RYT 500, weaves together modern psychology, trauma-informed care, ancient yogic wisdom, and creative movement to help people cultivate greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and authentic connection.

January - December 2027
✨ You’ve done the work—but you know there’s more.
You have insight into yourself and your patterns - you’ve done therapy, read the books, listened to the podcasts - but understanding them hasn’t always translated into change. You’re ready to go deeper.
✨ You’ve spent a lot of your life being who you needed to be.
The caretaker. The achiever. The peacekeeper. The one who always “does the right thing”. You’re curious about who you are beyond the roles you’ve learned to play and are ready to explore what you want, feel, and wish to express.
✨ You’re in a season of becoming.
Something is shifting, and you find yourself asking, Who am I now? You’re looking for space to listen more deeply to what’s emerging.
✨ Your life is full—but you don’t always feel fully alive.
Nothing dramatics happened, yet you sense a longing for more creativity, vitality, authenticity, meaning, or connection with yourself.
✨ Your yoga practice has made you curious about what lies beyond the physical practice.
You love yoga and may have even considered teacher training—not necessarily because you want to teach, but because you want to understand yourself more deeply and explore the philosophy, psychology, and inner work behind the practice.
You don’t need to know exactly why you’re drawn to this. You may simply sense that there is more of you to know.

Come home to your full humanity. Rediscover your innate radiance. And begin living with greater freedom, authenticity, and compassion for yourself and for others.
What to Expect
This is not a journey toward becoming someone new. It is a journey toward remembering who you are beneath the roles you've played, the stories you've inherited, and the parts of yourself you've learned to hide.
Please bring a journal to each session, as reflection and personal writing will be woven throughout our time together. Between sessions, you'll be encouraged to explore simple practices and meaningful rituals that nourish your mind, heart, and nervous system. These daily and weekly touchpoints help create a strong inner container, supporting deeper exploration, gentle integration, and the lasting embodiment of what you uncover along the way.
What This Is Not
This program does not include a traditional full-length yoga practice. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably for gentle somatic movement, meditation, and other embodied practices.
Beyond the Shadow offers a framework for deep self-inquiry and personal growth, but it is not a substitute for psychotherapy or mental health treatment. Participants are encouraged to engage in individual therapy alongside this work when appropriate and to honor their own limits by pausing or stepping back whenever needed. During our opening session, we'll discuss readiness for this journey, practices for staying resourced, and ways to navigate moments of overwhelm with compassion and care.
Important Considerations
Beyond the Shadow is not an introductory program. Some previous experience with yoga, therapy, mindfulness, or other forms of self-inquiry is recommended, as participants will be invited into meaningful and sustained inner exploration. This program is not intended for individuals experiencing an active mental health crisis and is not a substitute for psychotherapy or mental health treatment. If you feel a strong call to this work but are unsure whether the program is right for you, we invite you to reach out to Candace directly to explore your readiness and fit.
This journey is designed to unfold slowly and intentionally, with mental and emotional safety at its core. Together, we'll explore what our emotions, fears, and protective patterns may be trying to teach us while cultivating the grounding, self-compassion, and presence needed to navigate that exploration with care.
Candace Stevens, LPC, E-RYT 500, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, experienced yoga teacher, and lifelong student of philosophy, psychology, and embodied practice. Teaching yoga since 2010, she weaves together modern psychology, trauma-informed care, ancient yogic wisdom, and creative movement to help people cultivate greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and authentic connection. Her work is deeply inspired by the mind-body connection, the rhythms of nature, and the belief that healing begins not by fixing ourselves, but by compassionately welcoming every part of who we are.
What It’s Like Working with Candace
“The experience was gentle, it was calm and quiet and I quickly felt comfortable with the group. ... little by little, and with each week, that became a treasured moment: to express with no judgement and to put thoughts to words and words for thought. I could not have done this alone or without Candace’s guidance ... being in community opened a whole new world of honesty, expression and transparency for myself which i continue to practice every day.”
Yvonne C.
“I've been interested in learning more about Jungian psychology for a while and this turned out to be a wonderful immersive experience, uplifting and affirming. Candace brought so much warmth, creativity, flexibility, and insight to every meeting -- successfully inspiring and encouraging the group to share and support each other in a comfortable low-key way. Highly recommend beyond a shadow of a doubt!”
