Never been on retreat before?

We get it! Doing something new can be scary. But we’ve got you covered.

FAQs

  • Great question! Special events are an opportunity for our teachers to dive into different poses, concepts or philosophies that are more complex than we have time for in a regular class.

Many of our events also explore a new place, new food, new people etc for a really rich, transformative experience. And if you’re coming on retreat, I promise you’ll wonder why it took you so long to do something like this for yourself!

  • No! If experience is preferred or required, it will be noted.

  • We are pros at communication and logistics. Anything you need will be shared with you well in advance — from BYOmat to required readings to packing lists, trust you’re in the hands of event experts!

  • Connect with us directly. We do everything we can  to accommodate our students’ needs and 95% of the time this is totally possible. Our community partners have different levels of accessibility so we’ll also be honest with you if it’s not the best event for you.

For example, if you are gluten and dairy-free, a retreat to the Himalayan Institute might be better for you than Italy. But let’s talk about it!

  • Absolutely. Many people do! And, there’s something to be said about coming with  friends. It totally depends on the event.

Looking to study or retreat? This can be awesome solo time to reconnect to yourself.

Want to come to a Treetop Class? The more the merrier when it comes to community events. Ultimately, you do you and either is great!

Why do people go on retreats?

People go on retreat to step out of their everyday rhythm and into something more intentional. It can be a deeply restful, meaningful pause — space to exhale, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Or it can be an adventure: exploring somewhere new, trying new practices, and saying yes to experiences you wouldn’t normally make time for.

For us, it’s also about connection. Retreats create space for genuine conversation, shared meals, laughter, and the kind of community that feels both grounding and uplifting.

Every Camaraderie retreat holds all of that possibility — whether you come for quiet restoration, inspired exploration, social connection… or a little bit of each!
